Michael Taylor lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with his family. His love of cartooning and humor has allowed him to create “Doodlewags” which is his brand for creating humorous animal art. The clever titles for the paintings brings a little extra humor to the paintings. Some titles include “The Watering Hole”, “Yappy-Ki-Yay” and “Boxer in Briefs” to name a few. original acrylic paintings, prints, greeting cards and t-shirts are available on his web site doodlewags.com. A lot of his inspiration comes from his dog Norman. He is also the creator of the cartoon strip “Soul Improvement” has been published in greeting cards and as a book.

 

What’s with the green ribbon in the signature? In 2007, Mike was diagnosed with leukemia and received a stem-cell transplant and is now cancer free. The green ribbon recognizes stem cell transplant survivors. Mike contributes his faith, family and God’s gift of humor to help him through this difficult time. The bible verse “A cheerful heart is good medicine.” Proverbs 17:22 has become the theme for his business.

Giving Back - Every year through his artwork, Mike helps support worthwhile charities. He has donated paintings, t-shirts and prints for auction to help raise much needed funds for numerous charities including:
Blount County Animal Shelter, Nashville Paw Foundation, AGAPE Animal Rescue of Nashville, Morris Animal Foundation, Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding, Young-Williams Animal Center, Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee, Pet Safe K9 Cancer Walk, Carroll County Humane Society, Crossroads Campus in Nashville and more.
